Beginning in May, CLSS regularly counts the number of water crafts on Columbia Lake. The temperature and weather conditions are noted as well, further complimenting the collection of counts of recreationalists. This information is important to document, as it allows us to recognize the recreational activity taking place on Columbia Lake and helps us to improve our educational programs and the information we provide to lake users.
Our Summer Sample Collection and Education Assistant collects this data and develops their own strategy and monitoring schedule guided by the Program Coordinator, each year.
Note: data varies throughout the years as well as monitoring dates.
